Desi Walked!

After a follow up visit by Anabel, Desi's physical therapist, yesterday, we started to push Desi to walk a little more. Anabel was surprised Desi wasn't walking yet. Her evaluation confirmed that Desi was performing all her tasks at a 14 month old level except for walking. She showed us how to push Desi a little bit and get her excited about walking. So last night and today we practiced. We held Desi's clothes instead of her fingers, we got very excited when she would walk with us holding her clothes, we bribed her with some chocolate... It must have worked because this evening around 8pm at Nana and GungGung's house Desi started to take a step in between letting go of one piece of furniture and holding on to the other piece. After about 3 of these little "tests", Desi stood up in the middle of the living room and WALKED to the tv. It was about 5 or 6 steps. Nana, GungGung, Uncle Kieran, and I were all there to witness it. Poor Daddy was working and missed it. Unfortunately, there was no repeat performance and then tiredness took over. Now my little angel is resting those little feet. I can't wait to see what she does tomorrow!!!! :O
