Walking?!

For the past couple of weeks Desi has been mastering standing up on her own without holding on. Desi has started playing with toys in both hands while standing and has even started to bounce up and down hands free. Desi looks so ready to walk that Mary has been on the look out every day this past week for her first steps.

Today Nana said that Desi took two steps for her and loved every bit of it. Nana said that Desi couldn't stop giggling after her first "walk". Of course, Daddy was in Las Vegas and Mommy was running errands when all this excitement took place.

This is one of those milestones that is going to bring sadness and joy at the same time. Our little baby is growing up!

Go CANES!

Desi's getting ready for college football. We had to try on the CANES cheerleading outfit. Desi was very cute. It was too much for Dada to take. He's shopping for an FSU outfit!

Easter (April 2009)

We are working our computer issues out and I'm slowly getting to download all our pictures from April and May. Here are the pictures from Easter.

Ms. Natasha Ariza came by to give Desi an Easter basket. Here are the two ladies in their Easter best. Holding hands none the less!

Desi wasn't sure what to make of the bunny, but Ms. Mary was quick to show her how to wear the watch and hair clip.

The guys with their gals.

And here are the mamas and their babies.

Next we heading to Grandma Price's house for a little Easter lunch. Kiana and Kayla were already there and well into the Easter candy.

The Prices.

And here's the family shot.

Happy Birthday Dada!

We celebrated Colin's 35th birthday yesterday with a small group of family and friends. Everyone was all smiles.

What a weekend!

We had a non-stop weekend, but Desi had some good "firsts" so here goes...

1. Not a first, but a more frequent... Desi is starting to stand up on her own more often and for longer periods of time. I feel a first step coming soon.

2. And speaking of that first step, we went to Nordstrom's with Nana and GungGung to buy Desi her first pair of shoes on Saturday. They are so soft and nice. SeeKaiRuns. Nana wants a pair too.

3. Desi made her first sign this weekend. MILK. What else?! I've been signing to her for a few months now, but it looks like she's just starting to respond to them and trying to mimic them.

3. Desi is starting to "talk" up a storm. She tries to repeat everything we say. A real parrot. Eye. Ear. Airee. Nana. Fish. Water. Meow. Duck. Baby. Pretty.

4. Understanding what we say. Every day Desi shows more and more that she knows exactly what we mean. Whenever we ask her if she's strong, she makes her hands into fists, pumps them in the air and squeezes up her face. Today Mary said "Pretty Desi. Say Pretty." After repeating pretty, she looked down at her clothes and started pointing at all of the butterflies on her shorts and shirt. Amazing!

More Teeth

Desi got her two top front teeth this past week. She's been really good with the teething pain. Sometimes she has a light fever and is a little irritated, but mostly it's just a lot of drool! I haven't been able to snap a picture of these new pearly whites because she won't let me hold her lip up. I'm working on it though.

Mama!

After saying Dada for quite some time now and then Nana (for Grandma Casey) on Wednesday, Desi finally said Mama today. I was so excited. I feel the love. Didn't matter whether she knew Mama was me or not. :)
